Barnard, the former chief revenue officer of SolarCity, says that homeowners will need $450 billion to turn their homes green with rooftop solar in the future. The GreenLeap LLC startup is geared to put potential solar customers together with financing entities such as banks, insurers, hedge fund managers with proprietary designed software and app. The WSJ reported that Dell placed the largest order in a new $800 million private sale of GreenLeap shares. That deal resulted in the Company’s latest valuation of $12 billion.

The software connects the financing arms with lenders so sales calls for solar can be completed and other details of the proposed transactions can be processed. The company is tracking to originate $5.2 billion worth of solar loans this year vs. $3.3 billion in 2020. He and the president of the company, also a SolarCity veteran, have sold $500 million of loans to high profile financier Blackstone Inc.

GreenLeap now sees itself branching to other green areas for potential residential clients, such as energy-efficient windows and artificial lawns. Barnard is concerned that more financial institutions enter the solar and other green energy space. GreenLeap remains private and has no intention of an IPO or seeking to raise capital from the public markets.

SolarCity was acquired by Tesla in 2016 for $2.6 billion in an all-stock transaction, with Elon Musk taking an executive role. Barnard told the Wall Street Journal, “The company that wins is the company that bundles all the technology together. I want to double-click on that.”

Solar Integrated Roofing Corp. (OTC PINK: SIRC) announces that its subsidiary, USA Solar Networks, has formed a Tier 1 strategic partnership for Sunnova Energy International, Inc. (NYSE: NOVA) to also finance and leasing for solar. Pablo Diaz, CEO of USA Solar Networks, says that his Company’s new JV with Sunnova will mean a 30+% jump in its client base. NOVA itself is valued at more than $3.8 billion and it has assisted on greater than 160,000 residential homeowner solar installations.

Pablo Diaz, CEO of USA Solar Networks, says his company within SIRC has now grown to serving 40 states and grown its client base  30+%. NOVA (NYSE: NOVA), valued at over $3.8 billion, has assisted more than 160,000 homeowners with solar installations. Diaz, in multiple interviews, maintains that funding is a key driver of new solar installations — making it simpler to close solar installation sales through available financing. Sunnova (NYSE: NOVA) now serves as the third leg of that stool for SIRC’s USA Solar Networks, enabling its National Dealer and Contractor Network to add more clients across a larger nationwide footprint of some 40 states.

Diaz said of the JV agreement, “By combining Sunnova’s innovative financing options with our strong ‘service first’ culture, we are quickly becoming the premier solar provider in many areas of the country. Leasing capabilities have been a missing piece of our sales program — we are truly privileged to offer this in conjunction with a tier-1 provider like Sunnova (NYSE: NOVA), greatly expanding our revenue potential and growing our potential client base by an estimated 30% or more. I look forward to working with the Sunnova team to further their goal of bringing the benefits of solar to every homeowner in the country.”

Diaz says the transaction could ‘significantly improve’ its sales organizations, generate thousands of new projects annually, driving millions of dollars in incremental revenue, the company said.
