If consumers weren’t aware of how much impact electric cars/trucks will be having on the U.S. vehicle industry, they learned plenty last night as EVs from General Motors (NYSE: GM), Kia, BMW and other OEM manufacturers took center stage with pricey Super Bowl TV commercials. GM advertised its Silverado electric version of its pickup truck — appealing to middle American drivers. For Solar Integrated Roofing Corp.’s (OTC PINK: SIRC) PLEMCo., subsidiary and other EV Charging Station installers, this high level of exposure for electric cars/trucks helps future business prospects.

Non-owners of electric vehicles were probably surprised about some of the mainstream brands showing multiple new electric models to be available in an electric version. Perhaps most impactful was the General Motors spot (NYSE: GM). It showed how many electric models are coming, the battery in an electric cars — it was a trusted American brand going all in on electric vehicles. The ad focused on its new Silverado electrified version — taking reservations now, it said.

It was surprising to see OEM maker Kia’s electric car model. And equally effective was the long-form commercial for the BMW electric version. The commercials were fun, informative and never got too serious about the environmental impact. It was just that an electric powered car/truck was fun to drive, the newest technology. Heck, if a company like GM is all in — why not?

All that marketing spending on electric cars/ trucks was impactful. It introduced the American public to the fun of a high-tech electric car. From that standpoint, the investment was worth it against the most-watched TV sporting event of the year.

It relieved the American public of range anxiety fears by never addressing them. It took away the lectures about carbon emissions. There was no political message. It just showed electric cars as powerful, stylish, driven by known celebrities ad and as already here or coming soon.

To SIRC and PLEMCo., all this spells opportunity for EV Charging Stations to support electric vehicles. The electric car/truck high profile last night was great for SIRC’s future business. If mainstream GM is dropping all its dividends to invest in electric vehicles, American drivers are more relaxed about buying them.  Electric Cars Take Center Stage In Last Night’s Super Bowl Pricey Commercials With General Motors (NYSE: GM) Leading The Way Over Kia, BMW And Other OEM Manufacturers Of EV Vehicles;  Solar Integrated Roofing Corp. BMW is an upscale brand in the US. It recently reported it more than doubled sales of electric vehicles in 2021. About 23% of its sales in Europe last year were  fully electric vehicles or hybrids. On a global level, that number was only 13% — showing how much potential it has in other countries

General Motors (NYSE: GM) has now raised its sales target for electric vehicles to 400,000 in North America in 2022-2023 compared to only 25,000 Bolt models sold last year. If the target sales are met, it could mean a spectacular opportunity for Solar Integrated Roofing Corp. (OTC PINK: SIRC) and its PLEMCo. Subsidiary that builds EV Charging Stations.

Automotive analysts agree that the war for electric vehicle leadership will not be won soon, and that the major initial battle between GM and Ford will begin in…pickup trucks. On the front lines with be the electric Ford Lightning and GM’s Silverado. They are high margin and fighting for the heart of middle, blue collar America.

As Ford and GM go toe-to-toe, SIRC’s PLEMCo., is well positioned to install EV Charging Stations for either or both OEM electric car/truck makers. In short, SIRC wins no matter which OEM company becomes an industry leader.

Sales for GM rose a modest 3.7% last year, she said, as chip shortages and supply chain delays cost the Company sales late in the year. Its Q4 income dropped 39%, she added. But its guidance for 2022 is profit in the range of $9.4-$10.8 billion.

SIRC’s advantage is that its installers are already performing solar work in the home — where some 80% of EV charging takes place, the government says. But it is also watching partnership agreements between EV Charging Station companies and OEM electric car makers and other retailers allied to the field — such as Bridgestone-owned Firestone aftermarket auto repair/tire centers.
