Big box stores can do more than supply food and everyday hard good needs. It turns out their flat and large roofs are perfect for solar installations. A new study by Environment America, a non-partisan group, says these roofs can provide combined enough solar power for some eight million American average sized homes. Who knew? The study, “Solar On Superstores: Big Roofs, Big Potential For Renewable Energy,” says these roofs offer 7.2 billion sq. ft. of untouched pristine space that can generate 84.4 terawatt-hours of electricity. To solar installers like Solar Integrated Roofing Corp. (OTC PINK: SIRC) this could be a gold mine.

The focus of the big box solar study is on commercial roofs in California, Florida, Texas, Ohio and Illinois.

Authors of the new report say, “Putting solar panels on the roofs of the nation’s superstores would be good for business, good for electricity customers, good for the grid and good for the environment.” Big Box Solar From Walmart, Target, Apple and Amazon Together Generate 11+% Of Nation’s Commercial Solar Capacity, Could Also Power Up To 8 Million Homes, New Study Says; Solar Integrated Roofing Corp. Additionally, by fully integrating big box stores and the shopping centers in which they are located, could replace about half of their annual electricity, the report writes. To solar installers like SIRC, it represent a new idea — and one that adds a massive location concept for solar installations. Government funding would held make this next generation of solar installations a reality.

Solar is building a nationwide brand and national footprint in solar. By using big  box rooftops for more solar, a branded solar installer could help its awareness nationally. A combined government – big box store fiscal support would also make it a lucrative and large venture for solar installer(s).

Federal funding for solar initiatives is also seen in other new study. A new US Solar Market Insight Report’ by Wood Mackenzie predicts that solar deployments will triple in the US between 2022-2026 to more than 300 GW. The catch is that to reach this level an additional 43.5 gigawatts (GW) would need to be installed with the help of federal tax incentives – – such as those proposed in the now legislatively-dead Build Back Better (BBB) Act. Passage of the bill appears less and less likely in its current form. Solar Integrated Roofing Corp. (OTC PINK: SIRC) Would Benefit From the projected solar 2022-2026 Growth.

The Wood Mackenzie report says if passed — even in ‘chunks’ under another name —  solar deployments would triple by 2026 and help offset an additional 83 million tons of carbon.

Yet a third report sees solar rooftop and other renewable energy sources growing over the next three years to generate at least 30% of the nation’s capacity. New solar panel technologies and mid-January solar incentive grants are helping drive the growth in solar installations and more renewable energy, site ENRCalifornia recently reports. These positive moves are tailwinds for solar installers, such as Solar Integrated Roofing Corp.(OTC PINK: SIRC). Today, renewable energy only generates for 25% of the U.S. total electricity capacity.

Solar and roofing remain core businesses for SIRC. Its work-around can mean potential buyers of solar systems can pay higher prices with renewable solar batteries, but long term beat higher energy costs — while using carbon fighting rooftop solar.

SIRC can custom design solar systems in combination with renewable solar batteries to help homeowners meet state mandates in California and generate money-saving solar startegies in other states.
